Testing Strategies Winners...Better Late Than Never...and a Funny

It has been one of those week.

Week

Yucky.

Here's a funny for you before I announce the winners of the Testing Strategies Bundle, though.

I have a class.
One of THOSE classes.

I truly love them.  Really, I do.

They are special in ALL kinds of ways.

Here's an example.

On Wednesday at the end of lunch, I am walking to the end of the table to dismiss the students to take their trays.  Special little girl who is the DQ of the class {that's Drama Queen in case you didn't get the reference} leans back on her stool.  {Do you have those sorry table with stools, too?}.  She leans back and says, "Why you always asking all them questions?"

Without a skip of a beat {'Cause I'm THAT ridiculously cool} I said,

"Say what?  Cause I'm always asking all them questions, asking all them questions, asking all them questions and assuming."

OK-Here's a little video to show you what I mean.  Now, folks, it's 6 minutes, so, have some spare time.  It is worth every minute. Swear:

They were SHOCKED.  I tell you.  Shocked that I knew the video.

They {that's the collective they...I'll explain in a minute} say, "You know it?".  I say, "Duh, of course."

Then what happens?

Only with MY class.

They start singing it.  Yep, right there in the lunch room.  We get all kinds of funny looks.

Now, I know what you are thinking.  Yes, this is 4th grade.

So, what do I do?  I RUN down to my room to show the rest of the class {who didn't know what in the world we were talking about} the video.

No, I didn't do that.  'Cause it's blocked.

So, I downloaded it at home and showed it the next day.

I'm KIDDING!  Don't get the curriculum cops on me.

First off, I had forgotten how INCOMPLETELY INAPPROPRIATE the video was.

But, that's my class folks.  They {collective} may not be able to add or subtract but they know "Askin' all them questions" BY HEART.

Now, when I say "collective" I mean only 1/2 of them.

Seriously, folks, 1/2 of them knew this video.

Kinda catchy.  And funny, too.  But for-realzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz?

Anywhozits-

  3. LOL It's terrible, but I did a similar thing a few years ago, saying, "got my mind on my money and my money on my mind." OH MY GOD HOW AWFUL!!

Oh, well. It's not like you taught it. You just activated the background knowledge lol.

  4. Good Morning!

I loved everything about this post!
(Funny: I saw DQ and thought of Dairy Queen--but that's how MY mind works.)

My week was just like this.
AND This could be MY class! I am terrified we will be establishing a new low in the "Bubble Testing Hall of Fame."

Thanks for being my BloggyAngel--even when I am posting about TAXES!

You know what I will be humming all day...

    I appreciate you, Elizabeth!

  5. Oh, those years! I feel your pain. ;) I just answered you on my blog, but I thought I'd do it here too just in case you're like me and sometimes forget to check back.

I have my own webpage hosted through tripod.com. I upgraded to a paid account because I also use tripod for my classroom website, but you can do it with the free one too unless you have a ton of traffic or really big files. They have a "file manager" that lets you store your files online (pictures, zips, documents, anything). It's literally like adding an attachment to an email, that's how easy it it. Then the file gets a web address that you can link to in your blog, email, anywhere. Easy as that!

  6. I'm just now catching up on my blog reading since being on break and this post is hilarious!!! Your kids sound just like mine! I have a great class this year, but the majority of the kids at my school talk just like that.
