I've enjoyed reading these this week and decided to join in the fun!
Bonnie over at Living a Wonderful Life has created this fun way to share all of the things we obsess over. I'm going to share a few of mine.
How can I start this obsession post and not address what my family calls my stalker-like obsession of the most fabulous singer, Josh Groban.
Yes, that's me on my birthday with him backstage. I taught his bodyguard's kids.
I'm really not a stalker.
I swear.
(I have to put that in writing so that during the next tour I might get a chance to go backstage again.)
Other obsessions include the following:
My Tassimo. No, not a Keurig. I wish it were a Keurig sometimes, because you can find K-cups E.V.E.R.Y.W.H.E.R.E. Not the T-cups. Those are rare. But, I like what the Tassimo has to offer:
Cappuccinos and Lattes.
MMMMmmmm
Love my Google Reader. I love reading all of the blogs that I stalk. OK, I guess I'll admit that I stalk these.
This is my newest obsession. My Roo Cup from Kangaroo Express (the closest gas station to me). I fill it with another obsession:
Gosh, it looks like I'm always jacked up on caffeine.
Not all the time.
'Cause sometimes, I opt for:
As you can see, I'm totally not thinking school.
Today was officially my first day of summer vay-cay!
Woot Woot!
I spent an hour this morning working on what I hope will become my newest obsession:
Have you heard of this? I downloaded this app to help me along the way:
It's an app to help you build stamina to be able to run a 5K.
Basically, you start with a walk-jog-walk-jog workout until you get to a point where you can run the entire distance.
My teacher buddies and I will be registering for a 5K in October (a few weeks before my 40th birthday...gasp!)
Great motivation, right?
So, what are your obsessions? Link up with Bonnie if you haven't already!
I am SOOOOOO jealous of you....I couldn't even read the rest of your obsessions! YOU have been in the presence of Josh....In my classroom, I refer to him as my "future husband" One of my students finally told me I should just move to New York, so I start working on getting rid of the word future:-)

Chickadee Jubilee
Oh and now I can go back and read the rest of this post:-)
DeleteI'm married, or we'd have to fight for him :)
DeleteWow...I admire you for the 5k! I have been thinking more and more about starting to run again (I used to be in the Army and ran every day), I will have to check out this app! Oh and I loooove Josh Groban too - I have quite a few of his songs on my youtube playlists :)

Oh my goodness! We must join a caffeine dependant group! LOL! I'm right there with ya sista on the coffee (my sweet hubs got me a mini Keurig for my classroom....joy!!!)...I was a Coke Zero junkie but have tried to stop drinking soda all together.
ReplyDeleteI am so excited for you to do the couch to 5k...I started a "life change" in March (my 40 something birthday)...first I started with what I ate....then started walking....then started walking a few blocks and then running...I lost 18 pounds and people at school were asking what I was doing and 2 even asked if I was doing the couch to 5k. Now I have lost 25 (since last weigh in) and am running 2 miles of my 2.63 (ocd much Tara?) walk:)))) It feels so good! I would like to lose another 25 and then I'll be a happy camper. I love how much better I feel each day:) Good for you!!
Good luck with it:)
I am so bummed you can't come to the blogger meet up:,( but I totally understand:)
4th Grade Frolics
Way to go, Tara! I'm going to refer to this comment often to keep me motivated!
DeleteI think it's awesome that you are doing a 5k. I usually join up with the Girls on the Run program at our school and run a 5k with them every year. Yay for summer vacation!! Enjoy every minute of it!

Learning Is Something to Treasure
Couch25k will rock your world! I started it back in January-I was able to run a 5k after 7 weeks of the 9 week training program! I have since run in about 5-7 5k races (who's counting?) and have lost 35 pounds! I am 41 and feel better than I have in a looooong time!! :) You can do it, and your life will be changed! :)

Hmmm...training for a 5k, huh? Maybe that should be my summer goal... I just have to make myself stick with it!

Will Grade For Coffee
I have the C25K app, too! LOVE it!! It must be working because the other day I was on the treadmill, just for 20 mins, and I was able to jog for 10 mins. straight without getting pooped out! (it sounds ridiculous, but for me, that's pretty good!) I'm NOT a runner, but with that app, I'm getting better. Best of luck on your 5K in Oct!
ReplyDeleteI am starting with power walking and going to work up to jogging. I tried to jog and then my knee didn't like it. So I am trying to strengthen my knees first, but so far I am really enjoying getting outside with the puppy. I look forward to running in the near future.

I too have a Tassimo!! I love it, especially the mochas. I just wish the t-cups were available more. I just got mine at Christmas. I have had the mochas on backorder for 3 months. (boo) I do love it when I can drink it though. I am your newest follower.
