I woke up this morning (kid-less for the week, mind you) and what did I want to do?
Go to Home Depot, Lowes and Hobby Lobby.
What-the-what?
My husband said, "Stick to one project and get it done before moving on to another one."
I was steamin' mad.
Like steam coming out of my ears and everything.
The conversation went a little like this:
Me-What do you mean? I can't finish the bathroom (painting and new curtains) because you haven't gotten the wallpaper remover for me.
Him-I just mean, finish a project before creating a new one.
Me-I can't seem to finish the bathroom project without you doing what I asked, now can I?
Him-Silence
Me-I'll just go to Home Depot by myself, you are now un-invited.
Him- Sorry, I.....
Me- Never mind!
Him-Silence
Me (about 10 minutes later when I calmed down)-You can go with me if you are nice.
Him- Gee, thanks.
Sadly, he was seriously on to something (but don't tell him I told you so).
I've got about 10 projects in the works. My brain is completely fried from being in over-drive for about a week.
I need to either:
a) go back to school--------------scratch that
b) stick to one project at a time--------------------he wins--------------blah
c) get at least 5 projects finished tonight.
Yikes, I'm not sure any of those will happen.
Maybe, I should just sit back on the deck and enjoy one of these:
And enjoy the peace and quiet.
Oh, and enjoy the fact that I received my June Birchbox in the mail today:
Sneak peak (if you get these and haven't received yours yet, look away.......................look away!)
Receiving this in the mail today solidified the draw that I had to send my kids a little prize in the mail to their camps:
Isn't it beautiful? Just the packaging makes me happy :)
Makes me want to take off on a vay-cay :)
How cool is that? I'm going to have to keep these away from my daughter, but then again, maybe I should share seeing as she made those clipboards for me.
I just love all of this stuff. Last month, I received the best moisturizer. I swear, I look 10 years younger. Seriously.
Side note, or let me of steal a famous line

I've been creating this post for about 2 hours, but just got off the phone with a teacher-buddy...holla, Stacy :)Ahhh, summer :)
I did want to share with you something that I did finish:
My Math Cubbies:
Question of the day...do you think they will stay that organized all year?
Me, either.
By the way, those labels coordinate with my labels for my re-purposed Sterilite drawers:
These math labels are currently on sale for only $1 at both my TPT and my TN stores. Grab yours now on sale until Friday! Then, they are only $2. I've also included blank labels, too. Because if you are anything like me, you need everything "matchy-matchy". With that being said, the font I used was from Lettering Delights (SNF Sketchbook).
Now, please, somebody come by and stop me from myself.
Seriously.
Please.
Okay... you sound just like me - all over the place. haha LOVE IT! The math cubbies turned out super cute, and I must know.... what kind of drink is that!?!? It looks delicious!

Dirty Hands and Lesson Plans
Pour one of those drinks for me, too! We've needed to finish our bathroom project (okay, projects - two bathrooms in need of finishing) for three years!!! It's good that it's only little things that need finishing so nobody really notices ... but on the other hand, if someone else (i.e. hubby) noticed, then maybe someone (i.e. hubby) would actually FINISH those "little things". ;)
ReplyDeleteLOVE the math manipulative organization - mine got more organized this year, but still have a LONG way to go.

Runde's Room
Girl, welcome to the club! I feel like this summer my brain is going a million miles a minute. I love the math cubbies! I came for the teaching but am leaving with more than one great idea... I have been racking my brain to come up with the perfect bridesmaid gift for my upcoming wedding and I think the Birchbox is it! Now fingers crossed I can get it for all 6 of them, haha. Good luck this summer and thanks for the wonderful ideas!

I just organized my math manipulatives, too! Great minds :) And I might need to get in on this Birchbox!

Yay for you! Better to have started ten things than to not have done anything - try that one next time he gives you a hard time lol.

I am so glad I am not the only one who is scattered! I just told a friend how I had too many projects started and couldn't seem to finish any. I think it's because we are so busy during the school year that we just seem to keep that going. I hope I can focus on one thing today and get it done. If so, that will be an accomplishment! Love your polka dot stuff!
ReplyDeleteI used to start the projects and then hubby would have to come along and finish them for me. They were big man projects. So I just saw it as a way of getting him to do things by starting them. LOL
ReplyDeleteLove how your Math Cubbies came out. It's always super nice when things are organized and tidy.

DeleteSo, I say we pour some of those drinks and all get together and finish up all of our projects!! You should see my dining room table! (our "formal" one that we rarely ever use) it's got SO much junk on it I'm embarrassed when I take pictures for my blog I do it somewhere else! ha! I don't think I could stack any more cardstock, fabric, paint, buttons, ribbon, etc onto it! LOL Your post cracks me up - I am right therewith ya, girl!
