Here are a few things that I've made for my classroom:
We worked hard the week before spring break on Customary Measurement. When we return we will be working on the Metric System.
Here's a preview...I haven't added it to my store yet,
My students made these:
And they look so nice on what was a very empty bulletin board {gasp}!
At home, I finally sewed some curtains for the kitchen. It has been painted since October and I finally finished:
Go check out all of the other creativity out there with my friend, Tara:

I knew I needed something for my bulletin board that was generic enough to get us through testing week in May and I thought flowers were perfect. I couldn't find what I wanted on TpT, so I made my own :) I'm going to post them later this week!
DeleteLove the curtains! We have a similary window set up in our breakfast area and I've been trying to figure out what I want to do there. This would be perfect!

I Teach. What's Your Super Power?
Thanks, Megan! I was worried about the pattern, but it turned out pretty nice :)
DeleteWe have a similar window where our table is too...I'd say that I should make some curtains, but that could end tragically- I should totally just hire you!! ;O) (because apparently you have too much time on your hands!!) just kidding!
ReplyDeleteI can't wait to see the metric lapbook. I will BUY that one once it's linked up since you are way to generous and give so much away!! :O)
Hope you rested over the weekend and are feeling better!
Amanda
That's so sweet, Amanda! It's available in my store, now :) I'm feeling much better now and ready to take on Spring Break!!!!
DeleteElizabeth,
ReplyDeleteI am intrigued by your flowers. What is written on the cards? I teach a K/1 combo and am thinking your art project might be a great way to link our studies in measurement and plants.
Camille
P.S. I love reading your blog even though I teach a very different grade.
My students wrote about measurement (since that is what we are learning right now) and I put a title on the board about it. I'm going to be posting about that soon.....stay tuned :)
DeleteI LOVE that bulletin board - it is so colorful and cute! Your lapbook looks great too!

DeleteI was hoping you were going to make a Metric Lapbook, I was even going to ask you if you were - but I didn't want to seem pushy! I am so happy that you did! Your bulletin board looks great!

Head Over Heels For Teaching
Thanks, Joanne :)
DeleteOooo, I say laminate those flowers and have the kids write a note to their moms on the back and ... voila ... a Mothers' Day gift! Adorable as always!
ReplyDeleteBarbara

Thanks, we do, too! Right now it's toooooo cold for it, though. But come June...ahhhh :)
DeleteLove the new curtains!! Also, I have been trying to convince my principal we need to come and observe your math set-up. (She's not buying it) But I think one of my teachers is interested in doing it with guided math groups!! Enjoy your week off!!
ReplyDeleteI LOVE your measurement lapbook! The curtains look awesome. It makes me wish I had learned to sew. I'll admit I used hot glue to hang the curtains in my classroom and make a hem on them. Sad, I know.
ReplyDeleteEnjoy the rest of your week!
