Music in Math
Over the last few years, I’ve been incorporating music during my math class. Just this week, we started our measurement unit and I was reminded of why I continue to use music to teach math.
And in my room, some days…it is 🙂
Welcome to the site!

It’s that time of year again! Yay! We only have four days until the “Winter Break”. I can’t wait for a couple of weeks to sleep in, catch up on “stuff” around here, visit family and have FUN! I’ve spent the last few hours of my last weekend getting the kids’ gifts together. Each year,…
November Monday Made It. I haven’t linked up since August Where has the time gone… As most of you know, I’ve switched gears this year and I’m now teaching ESOL. I’ve just barely gotten my feet wet and am finally in a groove of “almost” knowing what I’m doing. You know, each new teaching position…
I’m joining this linky party with a bit of hesitation, only because I STINK at resolutions. But, I’ve loved all of the new friends from yesterday’s party, so here goes. By the way: I may break the cardinal blogging rule and post twice today because I’ve been wanting to blog about my snowman glyphs…sorry in…
Summer is just a few days away and my favorite part of my summer HAS to be Monday Made It! Tara has the best blog link up EVER and she keeps me busy all summer long. {I say that with gratitude.} As the year winds down, one of my favorite things to do is to…
As summer is drawing to a close (boo hoo), I’m also wrapping up my summer shopping and hoping to get my room just right before the big day. I’ve been showing you some of my Fabulous Finds over the last few weeks, but I’ve been focusing on products that I can’t live without, rather than…

I use music during writing time and independent work….it's nice, and it especially lessens the talking when they work.
Such a fun way to get math in! My kiddos like the “Volume Song” from Have Fun Teaching. Always makes them smile :)StephTeaching in Room 6

Sorry…didn't read the last comment before posting! I LOVE singing songs with my kiddos! Especially when it helps them remember content! We sing a ton of science and SS songs! Love having another math song to add to the mix!RachelA Tall Drink of Water
ooo I like that one a lot!! We use the karaoke from Study Jams for science and math sometimes. I love to play quiet music during Writer's Workshop (not the same thing as what you're saying, but you know what I mean!). We use Pandora and my students' favorite station is the movie scores 🙂 I hope you're off to a nice weekend my friend!
