Math Moves Update

Well, you’ve asked for it, so I’ve been busy working away….

Although I won’t be teaching math next year, I’ve been asked to create a 5th grade version of Math Moves.  I’ve completed the first 4 weeks already and am hoping to have this finished before the end of June. (Fingers crossed)
If you are new to my blog and don’t know what this item is all about, let me fill you in a little.
I STRONGLY believe in a spiraled math curriculum.  It is by FAR the best and most effective way to make sure that I have covered all of the standards thoroughly.  Each day, students complete four questions.  By Thursday, they will have completed 16 questions.  Each week,
every.
single.
domain
is covered.
Why wait until March to teach geometry?  On Friday, there is an assessment reviewing all of the skills covered that week.

If you are interested, you can check out the 4th grade version {here}.
Could you use the 5th grade version?  Comment below letting me know so that I can stay motivated 😉

  1. Looking forward to trying it! I agree about spiral review- math of all types is around us and not separated into strands. Keep going!

  2. YIPPY!!! This is AWESOME news. I've been using the 4th grade one with my class this year and they LOVE it! As do I. One of the best things I did this year. I have my grade 4's again next year for 5th grade so this is great news for me and them. Thank you for your dedication and hard work. It is deeply appreciated.

  3. Yes please! I teach 4th grade gifted, so we follow the 5th grade math curriculum. I used the 4th grade version this year, which was awesome, but a 5th grade version would be PERFECT!
